William Filmore

Director of Legislative Affairs

William Filmore is the Director of Local Governmental Relations for Governor Kay Ivey. In this position, he serves as a liaison between the Governor’s Office and local officials including County Commissioners, Mayors, and other local leaders. In addition to these duties, he serves as the Governor’s Legislative Liaison to the House of Representatives.

William has worked in state government since 2015. He previously served as the Governmental Relations Coordinator at the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) until he joined the Governor’s staff in 2017. William has a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Troy University.

William volunteers his time with the Lions Clubs of Alabama through his work as the Executive Director for the Alabama Lions High School Leadership Forum (ALHSLF). In addition, he serves as a small group leader for the youth at First Baptist Church Montgomery. William and his wife Liz reside in Pike Road, Alabama.
