Nick Lawkis

Nick Lawkis serves as the Executive Director of Governmental Relations for the University of South Alabama (USA). Nick joined USA in 2010 in Student Affairs, advancing his career through multiple roles in Alumni Relations, and now Governmental Relations. In his role as Executive Director, Nick covers all aspects of local, state and federal governmental relations with a special emphasis on the Alabama legislative process and the education trust fund. Nick also currently serves as the Council of University Governmental Affairs Representatives chairman.

Nick earned his B.S. in Marketing and Real Estate and later earned his Master's in Public Administration from USA. Prior to working at USA, Nick began his career in banking in 2002 and followed a path that led him through several fortune 500 companies including Washington Mutual, Bank of America and Countrywide Home Loans.
