Campus Visits --
The Partnership calendar was full for December and January. On top of all
the usual Christmas events everyone gets caught up in, Mr. Stone made numerous
campus visits throughout December and January. Visits were made to Troy
State Dothan, Auburn University, Auburn University at Montgomery, University
of Alabama, and University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Meetings --
Mr. Stone continues to speak to university groups. For example, he spoke
to 25 - 30 College & University Personnel Directors at their meeting
in Birmingham. He also had the opportunity to speak to the Alabama Association
of University Women from Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Montevallo.
In addition, Mr. Stone continues to speak to civic groups. His most recent
invitation came from the Autauga Heart Association. He spoke to them in
January.

Press Releases --
The newfound money from the Retirement Systems of Alabama has been a headline
story in the news. As a result, the Partnership has released several press
statements saying that the money belongs to the state employees since it
was originally contributed by state employees.
Letters to the Editor --
You have probably seen the letters to the editor in your local newspapers.
Several have been sent to newspapers across the state. One letter, in particular,
praised Dr. David Bronner for his expertise in leading the Retirement Systems.
TV & Radio Interviews --
If you have a local radio and television program where it would be possible
to discuss higher education, the Partnership would like to know about them.
Recently, Mr. Stone accepted an invitation from WVAS Radio at Alabama State
University to take part in their Open Microphone program. Callers asked
questions over the phone concerning higher education and the Partnership.
Thanks ASU for this opportunity.
