July Activities

The Partnership had a very busy month during July. The following is a summary of those activities.

Campus Visits -

Gordon Stone is regularly visiting campuses. Membership is growing as a result of these visits and the hard work of university leaders. If your campus has not yet received a visit, it will soon.

Press Releases -

Several press releases have gone out this month - most in response to ACHE's proposal to cut the budget for higher education. Our Letter to Editors have been published in every state media market.

Interviews -

Higher education's opposition to ACHE's proposals generated interview requests by local TV stations. Interviews were given to reporters at WSFA, WHOA and PBS.

Meetings -

Stone had the opportunity to speak to SGA leaders at a conference held on Troy State's main campus in Troy. He introduced the STARS (Student Teams Advocating Realistic Solutions) program. The program was received enthusiastically among the students, and resulted in an organizational meeting which was held on July 26th.
