February/March Activities

Campus Visits --
The Executive Director, Gordon Stone, had a full calendar during February and March. Trips were made to visit with campus groups across the state in prepa-ration for the Higher Education Rally.
Meetings --
Stone continues to speak to university groups. He was pleased to have a part in the Founders Day activities at Troy State University. He also took part in Higher Education Week activities on the campuses of Troy State University, Troy State University Montgomery, Jackson-ville State University, University of Alabama and University of Montevallo.
In addition, Stone continues to speak to civic groups. In March, he will be speaking to the Montgomery Chapter of the Heart Association.
Press Releases --
The RSA savings issue was clarified for legislators in a press release in February. Several press releases were distributed publicizing Higher Education Week, voter registration drives and the Higher Education Rally. Press releases, praising all who participated in the day were sent after the rally.
Letters to the Editor --
Multiple letters to the editor were sent to major newspapers in response to the public criticism of university presidents for lobbying for more funding.
Media Events --
Troy State University filmed Mr. Stone's presentation on their campus and aired it several times during Higher Education Week. Thanks, TSU, for the coverage. In addition, the Higher Education Rally was covered by television in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery and Dothan. Plus, the rally was in every major state newspaper and many local papers.
