Partnership Update

SGA LEADERSHIP HONORED

SGA leaders from universities across the state gathered in Montgomery on May 8, for the first STARS Leadership Award Luncheon at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The Higher Education Partnership sponsored the luncheon to show appreciation to the students for taking leadership roles in support of higher education.
The recognized students were responsible for much of the success of Higher Education Week and the voter registration drives on their campuses. The success of the statewide Higher Education Day Rally and the petition drive, which resulted in 3,000+ signatures asking for the legislature’s support of more university funding, was due to the involvement of these students. They have shown great leadership and the Partnership encourages them to continue to “make a difference!”
